PGCE in Lifelong Learning at University Campus Barnsley
From September 2013 to July 2014 I had over 100 hours of teaching experience at Barnsley College. I taught many subjects including composition, performance, and music theory. Due to illness I was unable to complete this qualification, but a lot of what I have learnt about teaching is from this experience.
My degree covered many aspects of music technology including Recording, Computer Composition and assorted Film Music modules.
I also have 50 hours of secondary school classroom experience from a module called Teaching Music in my final year.
My final year research project was based on Phillip Tagg's work on semiotics in film and TV music. The work focused on the question of whether music written for children's TV was only written for people of that age, or could also be seen as effective for adults too.
I have also gained two major qualifications from ABRSM:
Piano Grade 7 - 2009
Grade 5 Music Theory - 2008
